Perhaps for the best. All the ones I've been to have amounted to nothing more than shameless politicking; you look the right way, say the right things, and no one tears you apart for another few decacycles or so. Doesn't sound like something you would enjoy.
I'll let you know if there's the inevitable drama, however.
